March 25, 2025 : Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has reaffirmed the critical role of agriculture in driving the state’s economic development and sustaining livelihoods.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the State Krishi Mela 2025 at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Sanglen in Imphal, the Governor underscored the event’s importance as a platform for showcasing innovations, sharing knowledge, and raising awareness about government schemes designed to enhance the agricultural sector.
During the event, Governor Bhalla engaged with participants from various departments, exploring displays of local products, agricultural equipment, and farm-related items. He took time to inquire about the products and techniques on show, gaining insights into their applications and benefits.
While acknowledging the progress made in farming techniques, sustainability, and mechanization over recent years, the Governor emphasized that continued efforts were essential to boost productivity and efficiency in agriculture. He also commended the Central Agricultural University for its vital contributions to agricultural research and development.
In his address, Bhalla reassured farmers of the government’s ongoing support, offering seeds, guidance, subsidies, and financial assistance to further bolster the agricultural industry and help cultivate a brighter future for Manipur’s farming community.
