Imphal, March — Ajay Kumar Bhalla released the second edition of the coffee table book “The Life of the Unsung Hero – Maj. Ralengnao ‘Bob’ Khathing” at a function held at Valley View in Imphal on Wednesday, underscoring the enduring legacy of one of Manipur’s distinguished figures.
Before the release, the Governor paid tribute by laying a wreath at the memorial of Ralengnao Bob Khathing. The ceremony was attended by family members, senior officials, and security officers, including representatives from the armed forces.
As part of the programme, meritorious students who performed exceptionally in Class X and XII examinations were honoured with the Maj. Ralengnao ‘Bob’ Khathing Meritorious Awards.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor said the book goes beyond narrating the life story of Major Khathing, capturing the principles of courage, integrity, and dedication that are essential to nation-building. He highlighted Khathing’s contributions as a soldier, administrator, and diplomat.
Emphasising the relevance of his legacy, the Governor encouraged young people to imbibe values such as discipline, humility, and commitment to the greater good. He noted that the future of the nation depends on a generation devoted to unity, constructive engagement, and peace, expressing hope that the publication would inspire youth to work towards a harmonious and prosperous society.
