Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be in Manipur tomorrow, will interact with the IDPs from both the valley district and Churachandpur district in his first visit to the state since the unrest. The PM is expected to reach the Kangla Fort in Imphal at around 2:00 pm, after his arrival in Churachandpur at 11:30 am from Aizawl.
The Chief Secretary of Manipur, Puneet Kumar Goel, also appealed to the people to come forward in welcoming the PM to the state and participate in the program, in a press conference held today in the capital, Imphal. The PM, during his visit, will lay the foundation stone for projects worth ₹7,300 crore and will inaugurate projects worth ₹1,200 crore separately.
On his arrival at Churachandpur at about 11:30 am, he will first interact with the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the district. He will lay the foundation stone of various infrastructural projects to be taken up throughout the state at Peace Ground, Churachandpur, and will also address the public gathering present there.
Thereafter, he will arrive at Kangla around 2:00 pm and interact with the IDPs. The Hon’ble Prime Minister will be inaugurating various developmental projects within and outside the state (belonging to Manipur) and will also address the public gathering present there, according to a government press statement.
