Govt eyes to develop DMU hostel and multipurpose hall worth 70 Crore

Jan 25, 2025: With the upgradation of DM College into DM University, by an Act which came into force on 6th April 2018, the Manipur CM N Biren and Education Minister Th Basanta is eyeing to develop its infrastructure.

The government is planning to develop 3 hostels and a multipurpose Hall, with an investment of around Rs 70 Crore through PM Divine Fund. For the said development, the CM accompanied by education Minister Th. Basantakumar along the and senior official of the state Government inspected the DM campus on Sunday.

During the visit the CM highlighted the needs of good infrastructure, along with the faculty and reiterate the government’s commitment to enhancing both infrastructure and human resources to improve the quality of education and equip students with the necessary tools to excel.

According to Education Minister, due the noble initiatives like ‘School and College Fagathansi’, there has been considerable advancement in Education Sector in Manipur and the focus is to make the state university at par with other University outside the state and reduce the numbers for reduce the numbers of outgoing acquired post-graduate studies.
