The Deputy Commissioner of Imphal East district has asked the concerned individuals and the public to remove all unauthorized structures constructed on or encroaching upon the riverbanks or the drainage systems within the revenue jurisdiction within 7 days from today.
Failure to comply will lead to eviction and demolition by the concerned line departments without further notice, according to an order notified today. All those who have erected or constructed such unauthorized structures are directed to dismantle and remove them immediately.
The district authority had earlier also reminded the public about such unauthorized structures that obstruct the natural flow of water, posing a flood risk, particularly in the monsoon season, and had previously carried out eviction and removal of such unauthorized structures.
