GP Women’s College Marks 60th Anniversary, Honors Top Achievers

Feb. 17, 2025: The 60th Foundation Day of GP Women’s College, Imphal, was celebrated with great enthusiasm today at the college’s Central Hall.

The event featured a special program to honor the academic achievements of the college’s subject toppers, recognizing their excellence in various subjects.

The celebration was graced by distinguished guests, including the Chief Guest H. Dev Shekhar Sharma, Chairman of the Dwijamani Dev Sharma Memorial Trust and retired IAS officer, along with the President Dr. Akoijam Nirmala Devi, President of the Teachers’ Forum at GP Women’s College, and Principal Prof. L. Rajen Singh.

The event also paid tribute to the college’s founder, Ima Ghanapriya, and H. Dwijamani Dev Sharma, with their photographs prominently displayed.

In his address, Chief Guest H. Dev Shekhar Sharma acknowledged the vital role of women in shaping the future and highlighted the importance of education in empowering women in Manipur. He praised the progress made by the college and its significant contribution to the state’s educational landscape.

Principal Prof. L. Rajen Singh expressed heartfelt gratitude to the college’s faculty and staff for their dedication and commitment to shaping the future of the students. He also emphasized the crucial role of community support in advancing the college’s mission and vision.

The ceremony also included a special recognition of the outstanding achievements of the college’s students, with various prizes awarded to top performers.
