Grassroot 45-Day Football Coaching Camp Begins at Moirangkhunou

The Grassroot 45-Day Football Coaching Camp 2025–25 was formally inaugurated at Moirangkhunou Makha Public Ground, marking an important step toward strengthening football development at the community level. The camp has attracted around 100 children from the Thanga Assembly Constituency and neighbouring areas.

Thanga MLA Tongbram Robindro Singh inaugurated the camp and extended generous support by sponsoring essential sporting items, including footballs, jerseys, and other training resources. His contribution ensured a well-equipped and encouraging environment for the young participants from the very beginning.

Speaking on the occasion, the importance of grassroot sports development in shaping discipline, teamwork, leadership, and physical fitness among children was highlighted. The initiative aims to provide structured coaching, skill development, and exposure to aspiring footballers, including many from rural and underprivileged backgrounds.

The continued encouragement and involvement of the MLA reflected a strong commitment to youth empowerment and the promotion of sports culture in Manipur, a state known for producing some of the finest football talents in the country. The young participants displayed enthusiasm and determination as they took their first steps toward higher levels of competitive football.

Local organizers, coaches, and community members expressed optimism that the coaching camp would play a vital role in identifying and grooming future footballers while also fostering healthy lifestyles and positive values among the youth.

The 45-day coaching camp will focus on technical skills, physical fitness, and sportsmanship and is viewed as a meaningful initiative toward strengthening grassroot football in the region.
