Hand Amputated by Paddy Threshing Machine

In a tragic incident that occurred during paddy threshing work, a man had his right hand amputated after it was caught in a paddy threshing machine. The machine reportedly belongs to the ill-fated man.

The incident took place in a paddy field located at Heirok Part (III) under Thoubal District.

The injured person has been identified as Laishram Kiran Singh (36), son of Laishram Ingocha, a resident of Heirok Part (I), Mayai Leikai.

According to reports, Kiran was engaged in paddy threshing when he tried to remove some straw stuck in the machine. Unfortunately, the machine’s engine trapped his right hand inside. Nearby workers immediately switched off the machine and rescued him, but his hand had already been amputated.

He was rushed to Shija Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
