April 07, 2026 (IMP): A hand grenade was found on the deck of a vehicle parked at the residence of Ningthoujam Romesh Meitei, 40, son of late N. Babura, a resident of Keirao Bitra Awang Leikai under Irilbung Police Station, on Tuesday morning.
According to police, the hand grenade was spotted at around 6 AM. The owner of the house, Ningthoujam Romesh, is a fish seller at Irilbung market by profession.
A team from Irilbung Police Station safely picked up the hand grenade at around 7:40 AM. A case has also been registered, and further necessary action has been initiated, police said.
