Thoubal, March 22 : One hand grenade was found at around 1:30 PM on Sunday between the shops of Soibam Variety Store and a chicken shop located on the southern side of Thoubal Market, near the auto parking area along the Thoubal–Mayang Imphal road stretch under the jurisdiction of Thoubal Police Station.
It is believed that the bomb was placed by unknown miscreants.
A team from the District Mobile Forensic Unit, along with a team from Thoubal Police Station, arrived at the spot and safely picked up the hand grenade at around 2:20 PM.
The reason behind placing the hand grenade is not known so far.
A case has been registered at Thoubal Police Station, and further necessary action has been initiated.
