May 4, 2025: Subsequently, days after the 21 MLAs from Manipur submitted a memo to the PM and Union HM Amit Shah for the installation of a popular Government, the BJP Northeast in-charge and MP Dr. Sambit Patra is likely to visit the state on Monday (tomorrow). However, his timing of landing in the state can’t be confirmed at this moment while filing this report.
According to an inside source, his visit to the state will be a crucial one and is speculated to oversee the current political situation of Manipur. The visiting BJP NE in-charge also has high possibilities of meeting groups of MLAs and the Kuki group to find an option to address the 2-year-long conflict and to restore peace and normalcy in the state. However, the exact reason for the visit is believed to be to explore possibilities for the formation of a popular Government.
Earlier in his visit, post-resignation of N. Biren Singh as CM, he had met several MLAs one-on-one, concerning the conflict resolution and to thrash out internal party indifference.
