The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East District, has announced that a hearing on claims and objections related to the removal of unauthorized structures on riverbanks, drainage systems, public roads, and footpaths will be conducted on August 9, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Court Hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East.
The notification, issued by Dr. Nivedita Lairenlakpam, Deputy Commissioner of Imphal East District, follows earlier directives instructing individuals who have erected unauthorized structures to dismantle and remove them within specified deadlines. A prior notice dated June 23, 2025, called for immediate removal of such structures within seven days, while another notice dated July 20, 2025, directed voluntary clearance of unauthorized encroachments from public spaces by July 23, 2025.
According to the Deputy Commissioner’s office, six objections were received from members of the public seeking an opportunity to present their claims against the proposed eviction. The upcoming hearing will allow these complainants to present relevant documents and justify their positions.
Residents and concerned parties have been requested to attend the hearing and provide supporting documents for consideration.
