The Heirok Assembly Constituency in Thoubal district of Manipur saw a boost in BJP membership enrolment, and Heirok AC MLA Dr Thokchom Radheyshyam said that voters from different political parties in the constituency are entering the saffron fold, expressing their faith in the party’s ideology and principles.
On Monday, the MLA welcomed a total of 52 voters from 14 families from various polling stations of Heirok AC who formally joined the party at an event organised by the BJP Heirok Mandal at his residence.
MLA Dr Radheyshyam expressed confidence that Heirok AC will move ahead on the path of development when everyone works together with a positive mindset, and said peace, unity, mutual understanding and harmonious living are aspirations shared by everyone. However, he added that these can only be achieved when people stand united, especially during critical times. He said that if people remain united, they will be able to move forward together, but if they remain divided, progress will be slow and difficult.
Dr Radheyshyam said that water flowing from sand may look clean, but it is the water filtered through stones that is truly pure. In the same way, he said, people must recognise and support the right leadership and the creator who works selflessly for the welfare of the people. He emphasised that unity among the people will make the constituency stronger and better.
The MLA informed that a few days ago, one of the most prominent political leaders of the constituency, Moirangthem Rajamohon, former Principal of Heirok Higher Secondary School, had also joined the BJP after expressing faith in the party’s ideology.
The MLA urged voters to refrain from unnecessary conflicts and arguments during elections, whether at home or on the streets. He cautioned against provoking others by making remarks like “this is our party” or “that is your party” and appealed for peaceful and harmonious conduct.
The programme was attended by BJP Heirok Mandal President Thokchom Chaorjit and several other Mandal leaders and party workers.
