Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Excise and Narcotics Department, Champhai, seized 151.7 grams of Heroin No. 4 and apprehended three individuals in Zokhawthar, Champhai district, Mizoram.
The joint operation on March 24 was based on intelligence inputs. A Mobile Vehicle Check Post was set up, and a Maruti S-Presso (AS 01SC 4749) was intercepted. Upon inspection, 12 packets of heroin were found concealed in a pillow cover.
The arrested individuals—Rashid Ahmed (28), Imran Khan (27), and Kanrul Islam Laskar (27)—are residents of Assam. The seized contraband, worth ₹1.13 crore, along with the suspects and the vehicle, has been handed over to the Excise and Narcotics Department, Champhai, for further legal action.
