The much-awaited BJP high-level meeting, which began at 4 pm at the BJP Headquarters in New Delhi with its legislators and central leaders, has concluded, with the exception of three Kuki MLAs who failed to turn up. The Kuki MLAs who attended the crucial meeting agreed with the Centre’s suggestions to bring peace.
The meeting was held in three separate rounds—one starting at 4 pm for Kuki MLAs, another with Valley MLAs at 5:30 pm, and a joint meeting thereafter. The joint meeting between Meitei and Kuki MLAs ended on a positive note, in line with the Centre’s suggestions.
The first round of the meeting was held with Kuki MLAs and central leaders, including LM Khaute (CCpur AC), Nemcha Kipgen (Kangpokpi AC), Ngursanglur Sanate (Tipaimukh), Letmang Haokip, Chinlunthang (Singhat AC), and Haikholen Kipgen.
According to sources, the discussions focused on peace and progress in Manipur, with key leaders like Shri B. L. Santhosh and Shri Sambit Patra in attendance. Discussions aimed to strengthen the party’s vision for the region’s development. The formation of a new government was also discussed, though details were not divulged. The meeting was chaired by BJP General Secretary B. L. Santhosh, with NE Co-ordinator and In-Charge Dr. Sambit Patra also present.
After the meeting, it has been speculated that further rounds may be required to settle the political issues.
