Day Five of the Second Edition DGAR Hockey Tournament brought another surge of adrenaline to the Khuman Lampak Astro Turf Stadium, Imphal, as teams battled with grit and flair before the crowd. Organised by the Assam Rifles, the tournament continues to spotlight Manipur’s enduring love for hockey and its thriving pool of young talent.
The day opened with a pulsating men’s encounter between MPSC and SEYO. In a match defined by rapid transitions and clinical finishes, SEYO edged out MPSC 4–3, sealing the win in a nail-biting finish. The tempo remained high as KHSC took on KDHA (Kakching), delivering a disciplined and dominant performance to secure a 4–0 victory.
The final fixture saw YCCIC’s women’s team unleash a relentless offensive against UYC. With seamless coordination and sharp execution, YCCIC cruised to a commanding 9–0 win, drawing resounding cheers from the stands and reaffirming the growing momentum of women’s hockey in the region.
Spectator turnout continued to swell, with the stadium echoing with chants and applause, a testament to the state’s vibrant sporting spirit. The DGAR Hockey Tournament has emerged as a vital platform for aspiring players to compete at a high level, fostering excellence and camaraderie on the field.
