Hit and Run Case — JAC formed, demands to book the accused within 48 hours

Thoubal, Dec 03 — A Joint Action Committee (JAC) has been formed against the death of Soibam Kesho, 60, son of late Selungjao of Kiyam Wangmataba, in a tragic hit-and-run incident that occurred at the road crossing of NH 102 at Babu Bazar on Tuesday at around 7 pm.

The JAC unanimously resolved 5 demands to be made to the authorities concerned within 48 hours.

The charter of demands includes: first, all the on-duty police personnel at Babu Bazar sentry post at the time of the tragic incident should be dismissed.

Second, the accused person and vehicle involved in the hit-and-run incident should be booked within 48 hours.

Third, no post-mortem will be done until the accused person and vehicle are booked.

Fourth, a traffic island at Babu Bazar should be installed at the earliest.

And finally, if all the above charter of demands are not made within 48 hours, the dead body won’t be taken and further agitations will be held with all the club organisations and public of Kiyam Wangmataba, Kiyam and Kiyam Siphai.

A memorandum copy each has also been submitted to concerned Wangkhem AC MLA K. Meghachandra, DC Thoubal, SP Thoubal and SDPO Thoubal respectively.
