Along with explosive items and contraband drugs, one cadre of Hmar People’s Convention (Democratic), a signatory of Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact, has been arrested from Tuisolen village under Borobekra police station in Jiribam district.
The cadre has been identified as Lalchoullo (48) of Lungthullien village, Pherzawl district. The arrest was made on Jan 9 by Jiribam district police and 38 Assam Rifle from the bank of Barak River with possession 20 explosive sticks, 11 detonators, safety fuse (one metre) and 44 soap cases containing brown sugar weighing around 457 grams.
Meanwhile, after being produced before the Duty Magistrate- Jiribam, the arrest has remanded to police custody till January 16 for further investigation, on perusal of the case.
