March 6, 2025: On the final day of the additional seven-day ultimatum issued by the Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, the surrender of illegal arms and ammunition continued, with a significant cache handed over to the Kakching District Police.
The surrendered items included two 7.62 SLR rifles, ten single-barrel guns, one double-barrel gun, three country-made pistols with three magazines, one 9mm pistol with one empty magazine, two SMG carbine magazines, two 5.56 INSAS LMG magazines, forty-three .303 live rounds, twenty-six AK-47 live rounds, twelve 7.62 SLR live rounds, seven 9mm live rounds, five 5.56 INSAS live rounds, twenty Amogh carbine live rounds, four 12-bore cartridges, twenty-three HE grenades, seven signal bombs, nine tear smoke shells, and one charger guide.
Authorities welcomed this voluntary surrender, emphasizing its significance in ensuring peace and security in the region.
