8 March, 2026 : Members of Unit 52 (Itham) of Arambai Tengol carried out a drive today to cut down illegal poppy plants grown in the hills of Itham, under the Moirangpurel area.
According to members involved in the operation, the action was taken as part of their continued efforts against drug cultivation and illegal activities in the region. During the drive, a large number of poppy plants allegedly planted illegally were destroyed.
They further asserted that Arambai Tengol will continue to stand firmly against illegal immigrants and drug-related activities, and that such drives will continue in the future to curb illegal poppy cultivation in the hills.
