May 28, 2025: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a ‘Red Alert’ weather report to some NE states of India, and various districts in the state of Manipur have also been warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall till June 1, 2025, with a risk of flash floods.
Some isolated places in Imphal East and West districts, including other valley districts, are likely to experience thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by heavy rainfall till 11:33 IST on June 1, with a wind speed of 30–40 km per hour and heavy rainfall between 7 and 11 cm.
Meanwhile, Senapati and Tamenglong districts of Manipur are under red alert and are likely to encounter extremely heavy rainfall with a gusting wind speed of 40 to 50 km per hour.
