Feb. 6, 2025: The City Convention Centre came alive today as the 2nd Eikhoigi Imphal International Film Festival (EIIFF) opened its doors to cinephiles and enthusiasts alike.
Organized by the Manipur State Film Development Society and the Manipur State Film & Television Institute, the festival dazzled with its celebration of cinema’s profound impact on culture and society.
IPR Minister Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh, gracing the event as Chief Guest, highlighted the transformative power of films in fostering positive change.
Stressing the festival’s role in bridging linguistic divides, he honored the legendary Aribam Syam Sharma for his monumental contributions to Manipuri cinema.
The festival’s grand opening included the unveiling of “The Eikhoigi Daily,” a special bulletin capturing the essence of each festival day, alongside a prestigious awards ceremony honoring cinematic excellence.
Dignitaries, including Chief Secretary P.K. Singh and Aribam Syam Sharma, joined in celebrating the vibrant tapestry of global cinema.
