Imphal West district hosted a one-day training session for Internal Committee nodal officers from government, aided, and private offices at Kombirei Hall, DC Office Complex, Lamphelpat, on Wednesday, 3rd September. The initiative was organized jointly by the Manipur State Commission for Women and the District Administration of Imphal West.
The program aimed to enhance understanding of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. Resource person Thiyam Rajkishore provided detailed technical insights into the Act’s key provisions, while participants from schools, PHCs, UPHCs, SDO, and PHED offices discussed practical measures for preventing and addressing complaints.
The Commission highlighted its mandate to empower women and ensure workplace safety, urging participants to actively engage in awareness campaigns and assist colleagues in understanding grievance redressal mechanisms. The ADC of Imphal West noted that such sessions help officials better navigate complaint processes, especially in private institutions, and emphasized the significance of taking women’s issues seriously in accordance with judicial directives.
Participants were encouraged to use available resources, including the MSCW website, and to promote awareness within their workplaces, ensuring that the dignity and rights of both complainants and respondents are protected.
