In a heartening initiative under Operation Sadbhavana, the Indian Army distributed 40 bicycles to girl students from various schools in Leimakhong, Manipur, to help address the daily commuting challenges faced by young girls in rural areas.
The distribution ceremony, held at P Moulding village, was attended by the General Officer Commanding of the Red Shield Division, along with village authorities and local residents.
This effort aims to improve school attendance, reduce dropout rates, and empower girls through enhanced mobility.
Speaking at the event, a student representative, Miss Nengngaikim Kuki of Class 8, said, “These are not just bicycles—they are symbols of mobility, empowerment, and a brighter future.”
The initiative reflects the Army’s continued commitment to supporting women and children in remote regions, fostering inclusive development and education.
