February 15, 2026: Demonstrating its humanitarian role, the Red Shield Division of the Indian Army on Saturday facilitated the secure movement of 83 civilians from Leimakhong Police Station to Sapermeina in Kangkopki district.
The escorted group comprised 53 students scheduled to appear for board examinations, 12 civilians in need of medical care, and 18 individuals travelling in search of employment opportunities. According to officials, the convoy encountered three separate blockades along the route. These were resolved through calm and firm engagement with local community leaders, allowing the convoy to proceed without incident.
The operation was carried out with detailed planning and coordination to ensure safe transit through sensitive stretches.
The Army said the successful execution of the mission underscores its commitment to humanitarian assistance, protection of civilians and efforts to maintain stability during periods of unrest.
