Indira Park, one of Imphal’s most loved recreational spaces, came alive today with the inauguration of newly installed amusement rides, drawing crowds of excited children and delighted parents.
The park, which had remained closed for a long period due to renovation, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the recent state crisis, reopened with fresh attractions including a pony wheel, joy train, and aeroplane ride.
Director of MAHUD & DIPR, Ngangom Uttam, along with IMC Caretaker Mayor Leishangbam Lokeshwar Singh and Municipal Commissioner Kiyam Chandrakumar Singh, graced the launch ceremony.
Uttam Singh highlighted that a private party has been entrusted with the park’s management, ensuring both quality upkeep and new developments. Plans for a children’s football ground and daycare centre are also in the pipeline.
