The International Conference on Advance Multidisciplinary Sciences and Engineering (ICAMSE 2026) was formally inaugurated on January 21 at Manipur Technical University, Imphal. Organised by the Department of Basic Sciences, MTU, the three-day conference will run until January 23, bringing together scholars, scientists, and professionals from across the country and abroad.
The conference aims to promote knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration in science and engineering. Speakers highlighted the growing significance of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, the Internet of Things, and cybersecurity in addressing societal challenges and supporting sustainable development. Emphasis was also placed on strengthening digital skills and research relevance.
University leadership outlined ongoing academic and research initiatives, including international collaborations, implementation of research and development policies, and the expansion of multidisciplinary education. Plans to establish new departments in biosciences, pharmaceutical sciences, and biomedical engineering were also highlighted.
With more than 140 research papers submitted, ICAMSE 2026 reflects strong interest in multidisciplinary research. The inaugural session included the release of the conference abstracts and a plenary talk. Faculty members, officials, students, and delegates attended the opening ceremony.
