An issue erupted at Leitanpokpi area in Sawombung of Imphal East District around 10 this morning, after some Kuki villagers objected to a farmer belonging to the Meitei community, asking him to stop ploughing a paddy field in Sadu Lampak with a tractor, citing that the land does not belong to him.
Villagers from both communities exchanged heated words. Now, the security forces led by Additional SP Imphal East and other central security forces have reached the spot to control the situation while filing this report.
The State Police also appeals to social media users not to circulate rumours with exaggerated captions and claims.
