“I’ve Forgiven the Perpetrators Who Have Taken Away My Father & His Colleague,” Says Son of Rev. V. Sitlhou, Appealing for Peace in Manipur

MAY 15, 2026 (KPI/IMP): “I would like to put this record straight; I have forgiven the perpetrators who have taken away my father and his colleague…” Son of Rev. Vumthang Sitlhou, Houminlun Sitlhou, publicly stated on Friday that he has forgiven those who took his father’s life and appealed to Naga CSOs and student bodies to release the remaining individuals held captive in order to promote and foster peace and harmony in Manipur.

Amidst the rising tension, Houminlun Sitlhou reiterated his late father’s legacy of peace during the burial ceremony of the three church leaders who died in an ambush on May 13. The public ceremony was organised at Brig. M. Thomas Ground in Kangpokpi district of Manipur on Friday.

Remembering his father during the solemn ceremony, Houminlun Sitlhou said that Rev. Vumthang Sitlhou of the Thadou Baptist Association was a peace-loving person who worked tirelessly for peace and wished to restore peace in Manipur.

The solemn ceremony, held under the aegis of the Thadou Baptist Association India, was attended by a large number of mourners from across the Kuki-Zo community and neighbouring areas.
