A delegation from the Kagawa Prefectural Assembly, Japan, is on an official visit to Manipur to explore avenues for bilateral cooperation, particularly in human resource development and collaboration across key economic sectors.
During the visit, the delegation held meetings with the Chief Secretary of Manipur, along with the Secretary (Skills, Labour, Employment and Entrepreneurship).
A detailed interaction was also organised with senior state officials under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary, Trade, Commerce and Industries, at the Old Secretariat, Babupara.
The Japanese delegation made a presentation on Kagawa Prefecture, outlining its socio-economic profile, industrial strengths, and growing engagement with foreign human resources.
Expressing keen interest in partnering with Manipur, the delegation highlighted workforce requirements in sectors such as agriculture, forestry, construction, manufacturing, trade, hospitality, social welfare, and nursing care.
Officials from departments including Health, Agriculture, Forest, and allied sectors shared Manipur’s potential, especially in nursing and healthcare.
