In the run-up to the 79th Independence Day, Jiribam district witnessed a flurry of patriotic and preparatory activities on Tuesday.
Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, the District Administration organised a social service camp at the Jiribam Higher Secondary Ground as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
Officials, police personnel, municipal staff, and district-level officers joined hands to level the ground, cut grass, collect waste, and sweep the venue and its surroundings.
The day also saw a Tiranga March from Jiribam Ima Market to the Higher Secondary Ground, symbolising unity and nationalism. Senior officials, including SP Senmi Ramror, ADC Th. Manoranjan Singh, and other key officers, took part in the event.
Meanwhile, a district-level NCORD Committee meeting was chaired by the DC to review the security scenario and coordination among agencies ahead of the celebrations.
