JNIMS Hospital Temporarily Shut Down Due to Severe Flooding

In an urgent public notice issued yesterday, the JNIMS, Imphal, has announced the temporary closure of its hospital facilities following severe flooding caused by relentless rainfall.

The decision, reached during an Emergency Meeting held yesterday, comes in response to the adverse impact on the JNIMS campus, including disruptions to essential services and concerns over safety hazards.

Medical Superintendent Prof. Kh. Lokeshwar Singh emphasised that the closure is crucial to ensure the safety of patients, healthcare workers, and hospital infrastructure amidst the ongoing challenges posed by the flooding.

Consequently, all emergency services, patient admissions, and non-essential medical services will remain suspended until further notice.

The public is urged to refrain from visiting the hospital premises until normal operations can be restored. Updates regarding the reopening of the hospital and resumption of services will be provided based on continuous assessment and improvements in the prevailing conditions.

Prof. Kh. Lokeshwar Singh expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to the community and appealed for understanding and cooperation during this challenging period.
