Kakching, Dec. 7: The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kakching (JNVSA Kakching), located at Umathel, Kakching district, organised its Alumni Meet 2025 on Sunday at the school’s MP Hall. Principal Atom Kirankumar remarked that among JNV schools in the North East, JNVSA Kakching has emerged as one of the leading institutions.
The event was attended by Principal Atom Kirankumar, JNVSA Alumni Association President Y. Shyamo, and senior teacher Heikrujam Surjitkumar as presidium members. Principal Kirankumar recalled that since the school began functioning in 1987, former principal S.K. Singh laid a strong foundation that has enabled the school to grow and excel over the years. He expressed pride in the achievements of the first batch and highlighted that the establishment of the alumni association has created one of the strongest alumni networks in Manipur.
Principal Kirankumar further added that the active participation of alumni has greatly strengthened the school, and their willingness to contribute in various areas is highly appreciated. Alumni Association President Y. Shyamo announced that students completing Class XII from the school will automatically become lifelong members of the Alumni Association, becoming part of the school’s extended family.
As part of the programme, meritorious students who secured top positions in the Class X AISSE and Class XII AISSCE 2025 examinations were honoured by the Alumni Association. The event was also attended by Kakching ADC P. Shantikhumar, YAS Director M. Veto, Joint Director of Minority Affairs Md. Salauddin, and several other alumni members.
Following the formal function, a friendly cricket match was played between the school’s teachers and the alumni, adding a fun and engaging conclusion to the event.
