Nov 14, 2025 (Imphal): A joint team of Manipur Police, Assam Rifles and CRPF destroyed approximately 20 acres of poppy plantation at Loibol Khullen Village and Kotlan Village under New Keithelmanbi Police Station, Kangpokpi district.
The team recovered two sacks of salt packets found at the plantation site, which were seized. Spray pumps, pipes, herbicides, and other items used in cultivation were destroyed and burnt.
Further, in another operation on 15.11.2025, Manipur Police along with CRPF and Forest officials carried out poppy destruction in the hill ranges of Kotlen Village under Kangpokpi district and destroyed about 20 acres (approximately) of poppy plantation. This included the burning down of five huts, and the destruction of three bags of fertilizers, two roundup herbicides and two bags of salt.
