In a joint operation carried out during the last few days at multiple sites located in the five hill districts of Manipur, 155 weapons, 1600 assorted rounds of ammunition, 39 IEDs, and 13 hand grenades were recovered.
The items recovered were found concealed at various sites in the interior and suspected areas of Churachandpur, Pherzawl, Kangpokpi, Chandel, and Tengnoupal districts by joint teams comprising Manipur Police, Assam Rifles/Army, and CAPFs, according to the office of the DGP, Imphal.
The 155 weapons recovered include 8 AKs, 2 INSAS, 1 SLR, 1 sniper rifle, 1 M4 rifle, 2 .303 rifles, 4 carbines, 14 12-bore rifles, 8 9 mm pistols, 1 .22 rifle, 1 grenade launcher, 5 single-barrel rifles, 5 SBBL, 1 SB bolt-action rifle, 14 country-made pistols, 1 shotgun, 4 lathodes, 21 single bores, 3 muzzle-loaded rifles, 31 pompi, 1 grenade launcher, 8 double barrels, and 13 single barrels.
Other items recovered include 1600 assorted rounds of ammunition, 39 IEDs, 13 hand grenades, 4 binoculars, 15 communication sets, and 1 telescope.
