Joint Op in Jiribam Recovers 13 Arms, 215 Live Ammo, and Other Warfare Items

In a joint search operation carried out this afternoon in Jiribam, between Jairolpokpi and Uchathol villages, the security forces recovered 13 weapons, including one tear gas gun, 215 live ammunitions, 8 tear gas shells, and other items used in warfare. Investigations are underway to trace the origin of the items recovered.

The recovered items include 2 sniper rifles (modified .303 rifles), 6 SBBL guns, 4 DBBL guns, 180 rounds of .303 live ammunition, 8 rounds of SLR live ammunition, 27 rounds of 5.56 mm live ammunition, 8 .303 live blank cartridges, and 13 SLR live blank cartridges. Other items found were 1 Pompi gun, 1 rifle scope, 3 .303 magazines, 1 SLR magazine, 11 tube launchers, 9 Baofeng walkie-talkies, and 8 tear gas shells.

The search operation was conducted based on special intelligence inputs by a combined team comprising the Quick Action Team (QAT) of the Jiribam Commando Unit, the Jiribam District Police, the 7th IRB, the 87th Battalion CRPF, the 48th Battalion CRPF, the 20th Battalion CRPF, the 156th Battalion CRPF, and the 38th Assam Rifles.
