Joint Ops in both hills and valley recovered 35 weapons and ammunition

Jan. 28, 2025: In a series of coordinated joint operations carried out by the Indian Army, including AR and Manipur Police, from the 19th to the 25th of this month, the security forces have recovered altogether 35 weapons and ammunition from both hill and valley districts of Manipur, including Thoubal, Tengnoupal, Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Imphal West, Noney, Jiribam, and Kakching.

According to a statement issued by AR, on Jan. 19, 2025, the Indian Army, in coordination with Assam Rifles and Manipur Police, launched a joint operation at Lungkhongjang Ridge, north of Bungte Chiru village in Bishnupur district, which led to the recovery of one modified sniper rifle, five 9 mm pistols, two single-barrel rifles, grenades, and ammunition.

On the same day, in Imphal West District, a joint search operation in the general area of Sekmai (Tendongyan) recovered one .303 rifle, one 9 mm pistol, one .32 caliber pistol, hand grenades, and ammunition.

The apprehended individuals, recovered weapons, and other items recovered in the operations have been handed over to Manipur Police, said an AR source.
