March 12, 2025: Security forces, in a joint operation carried out this morning in the bushes of Wangoo Laipham Awang Chingya & Warukok Hill range of Kakching district, Manipur, led to the recovery of arms, ammunition, and explosive items.
During the search of the area, the team recovered 1 (one) SMG Carbine bearing body No. 16012179 without a magazine, 1 (one) Single Barrel bearing body No. 54Y3EA, 1 (one) Modified .303 rifle, 1 (one) Single Barrel bearing body No. 5029, 1 (one) Revolver marked as “Made in USA,” 1 (one) live round of HEDP MG-4 (40 mm), 1 (one) live round of HEDP MG-3 (40 mm), 4 (four) HE grenades without detonators, 1 (one) IED with wire (green in color) weighing approximately 2 kg, 1 (one) IED (red) weighing approximately 1 kg, 1 (one) IED (black) weighing approximately 1.5 kg, 5 (five) 70 mm cartridges, 1 (one) Baofeng Handset, 1 (one) tear smoke grenade, 3 (three) tear smoke shells (soft nose), 1 (one) tear smoke shell (normal), 1 (one) anti-riot shell, 1 (one) grenade key, 4 (four) 9 mm live rounds of ammunition, 10 (ten) 7.62 mm live rounds of ammunition, 8 (eight) empty cases of AK rifle, 27 (twenty-seven) empty cases of INSAS rifle, 6 (six) live rounds of AK rifle ammunition, 81 (eighty-one) live rounds of INSAS rifle ammunition, and one white plastic bag marked as “Super PP bag.”
The operation was conducted under the overall supervision of SP Kakching Police, Priyadarshini Laishram, MPS, and the combined team of CDO Unit Kakching led by MPS DSP (Ops) L. Bedhajit Singh, along with a team of 46 AR led by Major Shivam Sachan, a column of 2 MAHAR Regiment led by Major Aditya Jain, and a team of 131 Bn. BSF led by KS.
