Kakching, June 17: A three-day Jan Kalyan Shivir aimed at ensuring wider access to welfare and beneficiary-oriented schemes of the Central and State governments began on Tuesday at the DC Office Complex in Kakching district.
Organised by the District Administration, the camp is focused on facilitating registrations under various government programmes, correcting errors in official records, addressing pending cases and grievances, and delivering benefits to eligible citizens.
Deputy Commissioner Angeline Renita R visited the camp and reviewed the arrangements made by participating departments. A range of public services is being offered, including enrollment under the Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme, Chief Minister’s Widow Pension Scheme, PM-KISAN, Kisan Credit Card, Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang and Startup Manipur, among others.
Several government departments and agencies have joined the initiative, including Agriculture, Health, Horticulture, Fisheries, Social Welfare, CAF&PD, Education, Transport, Veterinary, Municipal Administration, Power Distribution and banking institutions.
Additional District Magistrate Phurailatpam Bhavananda, AC to DC Okram Sandhyarani, SDO Kakching Kherdananda Potshangbam and other district officials were present during the programme.
The Jan Kalyan Shivir will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will continue at the SDO Office Complex, Waikhong, on June 19 before concluding on June 20 at the DC Office Complex, Kakching.
