In a joint effort to regulate the sale of medicines, the Kakching Police Station and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Kakching district carried out a drive against unlicensed pharmacies in Sora market and nearby areas.
The operation, led by CMO Dr. Thoudem Rajen and OC Ph. Priyobarta, inspected six pharmacies. Officials found several irregularities, including shops running without valid licenses, sale of expired medicines, and dispensing drugs without prescriptions.
Authorities stated that the drive was aimed at ensuring compliance with legal and medical standards. Strict action has been warned against violators.
Dr. Rajen urged pharmacy owners to obtain valid licenses and follow proper procedures, adding that similar drives will continue across the district to safeguard public health and safety.
