At an awareness-cum-consultative meeting held at the Library and Information Centre, Sora Bazar, Superintendent of Police, Kakching, Priyadarshini Laishram called for stronger public cooperation in crime prevention and community safety.
“Police belong to the people, and with the people, we must prevent unlawful activities,” SP Priyadarshini Laishram said, emphasizing that policing cannot succeed without collective effort. She added that “even minor negligence or rumours can escalate into big situations,” highlighting the importance of awareness and timely consultation.
The SP also expressed concern about rising school dropouts in rural areas, warning that such youths are vulnerable to crime. She appealed to parents and guardians to ensure children stay in school and follow the right path.
Additional SP (L/O) Athokpam Romendro spoke on mob violence, drug abuse, and group activities, stressing legal awareness and public participation. The programme was attended by police officials, social workers, and CSO leaders, reflecting broad community involvement.
