As a prelude to the State Wildlife Week Celebration 2025 themed “Human-Animal Co-Existence”, the Kangpokpi Forest Division organized a foot rally today with enthusiastic participation from the children of Gopibung U.J.B. School and youths of Gopibung Village. The rally commenced from the SDO Champhai office and culminated at Gopibung Village, spreading awareness on the importance of harmonious living between humans and wildlife.
Following the rally, an awareness programme was held at Gopibung U.J.B. School where Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Kangpokpi, Amandeep, IFS, addressed the gathering. In his keynote speech, he highlighted the significance of wildlife conservation and stressed the crucial role of villagers in safeguarding forest habitats and biodiversity.
The session saw active participation from the village chief, youths, and school children, who collectively pledged their commitment to protecting wildlife and conserving natural resources in their region.
The initiative not only marked the beginning of Wildlife Week celebrations but also reinforced community participation in the conservation movement.
