Security forces on Friday arrested an active cadre of the proscribed outfit KCP (Apunba) from the Yairipok Laimanai area under Andro Police Station, Imphal East District. The arrested individual, identified as Lairenlakpam Dineshchandra Singh (30) of Thoubal Wangkhem Mamang Leikai, Thoubal District, was reportedly involved in extortion activities.
During the operation, the security personnel seized several items from his possession, including one 9mm pistol along with a magazine, five live rounds, one mobile phone, one wallet, a PAN card, a driving license, an Aadhaar card, an ATM card, and a voter ID card.
Authorities have launched further investigation to uncover the extent of his activities and possible links to other operatives of the banned outfit.
