Feb. 12, 2025: The CDO Unit of Kakching arrested a member of the KCP (City Meitei) in the Erumpal area of Kakching District today.
The arrested individual, identified as Moirangthem Gobin, also known as Khaba Meitei, aged 38, and a resident of Langathel Inkholnung Leikai in Thoubal District, confessed to his involvement in extortion activities targeting the general public in the Kakching and Thoubal Districts, according to police.
Reports suggest that Gobin operates under the command of the Chairman of City Meitei (KCP).
During the arrest, several items were seized, including two mobile phones—a OnePlus Oxygen OS and a OnePlus Nord CE4—and a silver-colored i20 Asta car with registration number MN03P-7854, along with its key.
A case has been filed at Kakching Police Station, and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
