Kakching, 17th November: The players and officials of Kha Manipur College Kakching, who emerged as Champions of the Ayekpam Pratap Singh Memorial Manipur University Inter College Football (Men’s) Tournament 2025–2026, were warmly felicitated on Monday.
The felicitation programme was organized after the Manipur University Sports Committee declared the final result . The programme was held at the College Multipurpose Hall and hosted by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), teaching and non-teaching staff, and the students’ union of the college.
The event was graced by Principal Dr. Okram Rudrababu and Vice-Principal Moirangthem Durjoy Singh as presidium members. IQAC Coordinator Kshetrimayum Joykumar, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students also attended the function.
The winning team comprised:
Phurailatpam Rupachandra Sharma, Naorem Jackyraj, Kshetrimayum Renedy, Mayengbam Shital, Pukhrambam Zidane, Wangkheimayum Sunesh, Thounaojam Shital, Konthoujam Romen, Md. Salman, Sapam Leishemba, Moirangthem Devraj, Thounaojam Tomba, Shougaijam Nelson, Ningthoujam Arnold, Huidrom Sushil, Shougaijam Frankeat, Huidrom Bishwanath, Mangalsana Rajkumar, Shoujaijam Jupiter, and Wahengbam Micheal.
Team officials included Team Coach Shougaijam Sanjoy, Assistant Coach Novilee Singh, Team Manager Dr. Nongmaithem Sundarlal, Assistant Manager P. Nandaraj, and Physio Ganashyam.
Team Manager and Physical Education faculty member Dr. Nongmaithem Sundarlal expressed pride in the students’ outstanding performance, stating that Kha Manipur College has consistently produced talented footballers. He also highlighted that the college had previously won the Ayekpam Pratap Singh Memorial MU Inter College Football Tournament 2024–25.
He further stressed that establishing a Full-Fledged Department of Physical Education in the college is crucial for nurturing skilled sportspersons. The consistent achievements of players strongly emphasize the need for such a department, he added.
As part of the closing programme, the college also launched an awareness initiative within the campus, declaring it a “Tobacco-Free Zone”, under the slogan “Let us make a Tobacco-Free Zone”, extending the message across Kakching and nearby areas.
