The iconic Durand Cup, India’s oldest football tournament, is set to make a triumphant return to Manipur as the 134th edition kicks off at Imphal’s historic Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.

Organized by the Indian Army in collaboration with the Government of Manipur, the tournament promises a thrilling display of football, captivating fans across the region.

Following extensive restoration efforts after last year’s devastating floods, Khuman Lampak Stadium is primed to host competitive fixtures starting from 30 July. Local rivals TRAU FC and NEROCA FC will set the stage in the opening match, with subsequent clashes featuring top teams like the Indian Navy Football Team and Real Kashmir FC.

This year’s tournament offers heightened excitement with prestigious awards including SUVs for outstanding performers like the Golden Boot winner (top scorer), Golden Glove (best goalkeeper), and Golden Ball (best player).

The fervent support from Manipur’s football community, evident during the recent trophy tour, ensures a vibrant atmosphere and underscores the state’s integral role in Indian football.

The 134th Durand Cup not only highlights Manipur’s sporting prowess but also promises an enriching celebration of sport and community pride at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, said the PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Manipur, Nagaland, and Southern Arunachal Pradesh in a release.
