Imphal is poised to witness a grand celebration of hockey as the 2nd DGAR Hockey Cup is set to unfold at the iconic Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium from 24 November to 02 December. Organised by Assam Rifles under the inspiring theme “Together We Triumph”, the tournament reflects the force’s enduring commitment to fostering youth engagement, promoting hockey across the region, and nurturing emerging talent towards national-level aspirations.
This year’s edition will feature a spirited line-up of 18 teams—12 in the Men’s category and 6 in the Women’s—bringing together formidable contingents from across the country, including the Indian Army. The matches promise high-octane competition, showcasing discipline, teamwork, and the indomitable spirit of sportsmanship that defines the game.
The Opening Ceremony will be held on 24 November at 11:00 AM, marking the commencement of the tournament with a vibrant display of unity and enthusiasm. Over the course of the week, the stadium will resonate with the energy of young athletes, cheered on by an engaged public and sports enthusiasts from across Manipur. The Closing Ceremony on 02 December, scheduled from 01:00 PM onwards, will honour the outstanding teams and players whose performances have exemplified excellence and perseverance.
