Khurai MLA Leishangthem Susindro Inaugurates Reconstructed Flood-Affected Houses in Khurai Heikru Makhong

As part of the Reconstruction of Flood-Damaged Houses initiative, Leishangthem Susindro, MLA of 3-Khurai Assembly Constituency, inaugurated two newly rebuilt houses at Khurai Heikru Makhong today. These homes are among eight being reconstructed under his direct supervision to support families affected by recent floods in the area.

The initiative aims to provide more than just shelter; it is a step toward restoring safety, dignity, and hope for families who lost their homes during the natural disaster. The two completed houses mark a significant milestone in the ongoing relief efforts, with visibly emotional and grateful residents returning to a place they can once again call home.

Speaking at the event, MLA Susindro expressed deep satisfaction in witnessing the positive impact of the project. “It brings me immense satisfaction to see the smiles on their faces and to witness their return to a place they can once again call home,” he said.

While construction of the remaining six houses has been slightly delayed due to continuous rainfall, the MLA assured that they will be completed soon.

Reaffirming his commitment to the flood-affected residents of Khurai, Susindro emphasized that relief must go beyond temporary aid. “Relief efforts must rebuild lives, restore faith, and rekindle the strength of our communities,” he stated.

The initiative highlights the importance of community resilience and the role of sustained leadership in rebuilding lives after disaster.
