Nov 13, 2025 (Imphal): Upholding the Manipur High Court order that annulled the suspension of two Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) — Jangkhohao Haokip (ZEO of Churachandpur) and Lhingtinneng Singsit (ZEO of Kangpokpi) — the Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) has appealed to the Governor of Manipur to reinstate the said officers in accordance with the court order.
The court had annulled the suspension orders issued on January 12, 2024, and directed the government to reinstate both officials within the prescribed 90-day period under service rules. In a petition submitted to Raj Bhawan, KSO leaders Dr. Seiboi Touthang, General Secretary, and T. Haokip, Education Secretary, accused the Education Department of defying the court ruling.
The organisation demanded that the Governor’s office intervene immediately and issue posting orders so that both officers can resume their official duties without further delay. The KSO also alleged that the authorities have failed to comply with the court’s directives.
