Kuki Inpi Manipur Against RSS ‘Chalo Manipur’, Says Veiled Effort to Forcibly Push Meiteis into Kuki Territories

The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) is strongly against the Rashtrahit Sarvopari Sangathan (RSS)’s recent announcement of the ‘Chalo Manipur’ campaign. The KIM said the campaign openly calls for lakhs of individuals to enter Kuki-inhabited hill areas under the guise of “rehabilitating displaced Meiteis.” This provocative campaign is not only deeply irresponsible but a deliberate attempt to escalate the already volatile situation in Manipur and further incite ethnic violence.

The KIM statement also said attempts to portray the proposed march as a religious rehabilitation effort are disingenuous and dangerous. The so-called “Chalo Manipur” campaign is a veiled effort to forcibly push Meiteis into Kuki territories, with full awareness that this would lead to fresh clashes, communal tension, and bloodshed.

This march, flagged off in New Delhi by a coalition of right-wing organisations, is nothing but a reckless mobilization intended to provoke hostilities and disrupt peace in the hills. It aligns disturbingly with Chief Minister N. Biren Singh’s one-sided governance, which has openly supported Meitei.

The Kuki Inpi therefore calls on the Government of India and security agencies to immediately intervene and prevent any such provocative march from taking place.
